Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to make a video?

This all depends on the complexity of the project. For example: producing, shooting and delivering a video, takes a bit longer than editing together existing footage.

That being said, we are known for our fast turnaround times and have worked with all kinds of timeframes, from a couple of days to a couple of months! We can work with your timeline – just let us know what deadline you are working towards and we can make a plan!

Why does my business need video?

With the ever-increasing presence of social media and online marketing, gone are the days where print media was the best way to reach your audience. Videos are a great way to not only reach your audience, but to engage them with your business and ideas in an interesting and concise way. Digital is the future!

Video can increase conversion rates on your website, increase open rates of email marketing campaigns, encourage social shares, as well as building trust and credibility for your company or brand.

How much does a video cost?

At Eyes and Ears, we take on a huge range of projects with a great variation of budgets. We primarily produce projects that have a budget somewhere in the range of $2,000 to $10,000, but can easily adapt to larger-scale productions with budgets of $30,000+.

We generate bespoke quotes for each job as they come to us. If you have a set budget, just let us know and we can tailor our quote and services to work for you!

What kind of videos do you guys do?

We cover a huge range of content at Eyes and Ears. From corporate videos, to ads, social media, digital billboards, virtual reality – the possibilities are endless!

We can also come in at any stage of the project – from script writing and creative concepting, to shooting the video, to editing and animation. Check out our work page for a collection of our work so far or our services page for a list of the possibilities!

How big or small are the projects you make?

We work on anything from television commercials, to bumper videos for social media, to internal resources. Smaller jobs may just require our director and a camera on set, whereas bigger jobs will require a full production crew.

We are very flexible and can grow or shrink depending on your project’s requirements.

Are you an agency?

Eyes and Ears is a video production company, which means we produce and deliver video content for companies, organisations and individuals. Although we’re not technically an agency, we also come up with concepts and write scripts for projects that call for it.

How does the process work?

Depending on the scale or type of project you come to us with, each process will vary.

First off, we will need to get an overall idea of your project. This could happen via email, filling out a brief sheet (which we can send to you), on the phone or over a cup of coffee! From here we can get a quote together and start planning for your shoot!

We can come in at any stage of the project – if you have never made video before, or need some help creating a concept, we can be there right from the beginning. If you have a solid idea already, we can move straight on to planning. This involves setting up everything we need for the shoot, including scheduling, locations, crew and equipment.

Next is the fun part – the shoot! Shoots can range from a couple of hours to a few days or more, and can range from one person on set, to a full team depending on the project.

Once we have all the footage, we will bring this back to our in-house editor and start piecing it together. We will send you a draft first and from there, it’s a bit of back and forth while we get your feedback and make changes, culminating in the finished product!

If you are new to videos, we can give you all the guidance you need at every stage of the process. Just let us know what you need!

What equipment do you have?

We have a Sony FS7, lenses, basic lighting kit, dolly, crane, sound gear and a Phantom 4 Pro drone. This is more than sufficient for most projects. For larger jobs, we may bring in a higher end camera and other equipment.

We also have our own in-house editing suite which you’re welcome to visit if you want to review any edits in person.

I’m a freelancer in the screen industry – can I send you my CV?

Sure thing – we’re currently fully employed, but send your CV and/or showreel through to and we’ll take a look at it and keep it on file!
