A wonderful, inspiring project about the people at Genesis. We worked with Neon Logic to put together the video aspects of this talent attraction campaign.
Off the back of previous employer brand work, Neon Logic helped Genesis Energy discover and refine their employer brand proposition. They needed to create a video to be used on their website and online job adverts, with cut downs for social media.
This was a three-party relationship between Neon Logic, Genesis Energy, and Eyes and Ears.
The Neon Logic team worked on storyboarding and creative, as they had worked on the brand for seven months prior. Eyes and Ears gave suggestions on the creative and technical approach, e.g., using a specific camera set up to achieve a more premium look. We also showed the client example videos so that they could get an idea of the scale of production that could be achieved with different budget ranges.
The video was filmed in two days – one day in their Auckland office and one at Huntly Power Station. The crew had to be nimble and careful of health and safety precautions, all while pulling the best out of the talent.
It comes down to feeling as if we are in a safe pair of hands working with Eyes and Ears. Huge amounts of strategy and storyboarding goes behind the work we do. It is important that a great job is done of the final product. Eyes and Ears have a knack for helping the talent feel relaxed and come across naturally and positively because of the encouragement of the Director, which is key in our area – employee engagement.Emily Durham – Agency Manager, Neon Logic
The Desired Outcome
The purpose of the video was part of Genesis’ talent attraction strategy and to talk about why they are unique, in order to sell them as an employer of choice. Part of their employer brand is ‘create your world of tomorrow’, so it was important to show that people there have long-term career opportunities.
Genesis are now using video content across a range of channels; on their careers site, embedding it into job ads on Seek and TradeMe to help convey the experience of working at Genesis before candidates even read a word of the ad.
